Disney Is Parading Solo: A Star Wars Story In France, But There’s Still No Word Of A Trailer

Had things panned out differently, we would already be watching the first teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Last week, it was reported that Lucasfilm had scheduled its grand unveiling for January 24th. But Wednesday came and went, and still, Star Wars fans have been left poring over scraps of intel. The radio silence continues unabated, then, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Solo is wallowing away in the depths of Lucasfilm; in fact, Disney, parent company of the Star Wars giant, has been parading Ron Howard's anthology pic in France, as below you'll see a tweet from a member of the audience – and that's it, really.

Last week, it was reported that Lucasfilm had scheduled its grand unveiling for January 24th. But Wednesday came and went, and still, Star Wars fans have been left poring over scraps of intel. The radio silence continues unabated, then, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Solo is wallowing away in the depths of Lucasfilm; in fact, Disney, parent company of the Star Wars giant, has been parading Ron Howard’s anthology pic in France, as below you’ll see a tweet from a member of the audience – and that’s it, really.

But first, a reminder of the story at hand. As was revealed in the official synopsis, Solo: A Star Wars Story orbits around a series of daring escapades “deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, where Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”

When it comes to the tweet in question, below you’ll see a photo pulled from Disney’s recent presentation which, if nothing else, confirms that Solo is coming to France (and most of western Europe) two days before it opens Stateside.

Via Twitter:

Alas, there’s not much to digest – a follow-up tweet from Laurent Coët roughly translates to “mouths sewn shut” – and it seems increasingly likely that Lucasfilm will hold fire on its trailer reveal until Super Bowl LII. Dated for February 4th, all eyes in the sporting world will be trained on the match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots, and we already have confirmation that Paramount plans to unveil its first teaser for Mission: Impossible 6 at that point, which recently nabbed the subtitle ‘Fallout’ in preparation for its arrival on July 27th.

Meanwhile, Solo: A Star Wars Story is scheduled for take-off on May 25th, by which point we’ll have already laid eyes on both Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled Deadpool sequel – undoubtedly two of 2018’s biggest movies.
