Black Panther Gets A Badass New Promo

It's been a pretty fascinating week for Marvel's Black Panther. In light of Monday's world premiere, which drew an overwhelmingly positive reaction from critics, industry analysts have readjusted their projections from $100m-$120m to a much more impressive $150 million, indicating that Ryan Coogler's spinoff – the final MCU movie to release before Avengers: Infinity War – may well surpass Deadpool to claim the box office crown.

In light of Monday’s world premiere, which drew an overwhelmingly positive reaction from critics, industry analysts have readjusted their projections from $100m-$120m to a much more impressive $150 million, indicating that Ryan Coogler’s spinoff – the final MCU movie to release before Avengers: Infinity War – may well surpass Deadpool to claim the box office crown.

The excitement for Black Panther is electric, then, and now, to heighten things even more, Marvel’s dropped another sizzling promo that shows off the pic in all its glory. Though there’s not much in the way of fresh footage here, it’s a perfect little tease of what’s to come. Besides, with only weeks to go, we don’t really need to see anymore new material, do we?

Set to Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd’s “Pray For Me,” which is on the official soundtrack, the promo features gorgeous visuals, electrifying action and, of course, what’s sure to be an epic showdown between T’Challa and Killmonger. Again, it’s pretty brief, but what’s here will definitely please fans and only has us even more excited to visit Wakanda. Described as the modern-day El Dorado, the fictional utopia is the lifeblood of Ryan Coogler’s solo movie, and part of the reason why Wesley Snipes (Blade) was forced to abandon his own big-screen version of the character.

Hail to the king: Marvel’s Black Panther is booked in for a release in North America on February 16th, by which point we’ll have a better understanding of the film’s critical reception. Yes, the second and final review embargo will lift on Tuesday, February 6th, and we’ve even caught wind of the post-credits scenes. And that’s scenes plural.
