New Avengers: Infinity War Art Shows Off The Rest Of The Black Order

The full version of Panini Vorschau's comic cover for Avengers: Infinity War welcomes Corvus Glaive and Cull Obsidian to the fray.

Thanks to Marvel’s Drew Struzan-inspired artwork for Avengers: Infinity War, you’ve already been acquainted with Proxima Midnight and Ebony Maw – two members of an intergalactic group known only as the Black Order.

They’re the unruly henchmen (and henchwomen!) of Thanos, essentially, and bend to his every will. But on the heels of yesterday’s German magazine cover, the Internet has uncovered a new, textless version of Panini Vorschau’s issue, which welcomes Corvus Glaive (AKA Black Dwarf) and Cull Obsidian to the fray.

It’s a piece that evidently takes cues from Drew Struzan, the illustrious artist who has rendered more than 150 movie posters throughout his celebrated career, including one-sheets for Back to the Future, Star Wars and Lucasfilm’s Indiana Jones. From what we understand, this Marvel-themed artwork for Avengers: Infinity War was drawn up by Ben Oliver, and offers an up-close preview of Thanos’ other lethal lieutenants, Corvus and Cull.

The former is the hooded figure looming overhead, and is, according to the comics, husband to the ice-cold Proxima Midnight. Cull Obsidian, meanwhile, is the hulking beast located just above Thanos’ round, purple head, and though they’re exactly what we expected from the Black Order, we’re hoping that Infinity War will provide some solid material for the likes of Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Cull Obsidian – lest they be reduced to forgettable cannon fodder when the lights go down.

Once Black Panther has its time in the Wakandan sun – expect the official review embargo to lift later today – Avengers: Infinity War will propel the MCU to new heights on May 4th.
