HBO’s Song of Ice and Fire is nearing its crescendo, that much we know, but with only six episodes remaining, viewers are beginning to wonder how exactly David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Star Wars) plan to bring an end to their celebrated Game of Thrones saga.

There’s a Night King on the march, after all, and his undead army (and reanimated, blue-eyed dragon!) will be causing all sorts of headaches for Westerosi people come 2019. Perhaps we’ll see one or two characters brought back as Wights? Who knows.

What we do know, however, is that Jon Snow Aegon Targaryen and his long-lost aunt, Daenerys, have joined forces, and are currently headed to Winterfell in order to defend the Stark stronghold from invading forces. Last we checked in on Game of Thrones, they left King’s Landing on the belief that Cersei Lannister, Lena Headey’s crooked, conniving Queen Mother, would pledge her support to the cause, thereby sending troops up north to fight alongside the joint Targaryen army.

But it seems Kit Harington’s King of the North still has some business to attend to in King’s Landing, as The Watchers on the Wall (h/t CBM) have unearthed a handful of set photos that place Harington in Dubrovnik – specifically Minceta Tower – the real-life city that doubles as Westeros’ capital.

What’s interesting here is that Jon Snow is pictured alongside a hooded, black-clad companion, identity unknown. Chances are he has something to do with Cersei’s masterplan, and may well be a whistleblower who alerts Jon to the oncoming betrayal.

Chalk that up as innocent conjecture for now, though, as Game of Thrones season 8 officially takes flight in April of 2019 – exactly one year after HBO rolls out the second season of Westworld.
