Cheeky New Walking Dead Promos Tease The Show’s Return

AMC has released a few cheeky new promos to tease the return of The Walking Dead, which will be back with us on February 25th.

The battle for Alexandria may be lost but for Rick Grimes and Co., the war is far from over and now, it’s time to finish the fight.

Yes, that’s right, season 8 of The Walking Dead returns with “Honor” on February 25th and it’ll be an extended outing, too, lending viewers the chance to savor Carl’s final moments before Chandler Riggs’ small-screen hero heads for the proverbial exit door, after suffering a fatal bite in December’s “How It’s Gotta Be.”

Losing a series regular is never easy, of course, and as producer Greg Nicotero recently teased, the upcoming episode will tug at our heartstrings. Not only that, but the impending death of Rick’s son will be a defining moment that truly redirects him, while this next installment has also been teased as an 82-minute ride involving “new difficulties” and “hard decisions.”

Now, as the midseason premiere draws closer, we’re seeing more and more promo material from AMC and the latest piece of the puzzle comes in the form of a few cheeky teasers that tie-in with the Winter Olympics. As you can see up above, they poke fun at the sporting event by comparing it to The Walking Dead, somewhat downplaying the important/significance of the games while reminding fans that they should tune in for the show’s return next Sunday.

Don’t expect to see much new footage from season 8B itself, but these bite-sized promos are a fun way to drum up some hype and no doubt have folks even more excited to reunite with Rick, Daryl, Maggie and the rest of the gang as they continue their fight against Negan and his Saviors.

The Walking Dead will be back on our screens on February 25th with a super-sized episode, and it’s sure to be one that you won’t want to miss.
