Since the beginning, there always existed jokes regarding the absence of Jim Gordon’s mustache on Gotham. Really, I even saw memes and such likening it to Superman’s cape, even jesting that he wouldn’t grow out his pushbroom until the series finale, similar to how Clark Kent embraced his destiny in Smallville‘s concluding episode.
Well, it looks like the city’s top cop is going to finally have a cookie duster to call his own once the Batman prequel series returns from its winter hiatus. Actually, it’s likely part of a dream sequence, which will be elaborated on momentarily.
In the latest round of promo images to be released, we see Gordon and others gathered at a formal event that includes Bruce Wayne. To be truthful, said photos are labeled as being from episode 4×13, which we’ve already received a gallery for, one that included shots of Jerome Valkeska and the Penguin inside Arkham Asylum.
From the look of it, the network was holding off on this particular batch, but we’re really wondering why because there’s nothing too spoiler-ish here. Fortunately, the official synopsis for “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness” supports our theory of this being part of a dream sequence.
Ivy (guest star Peyton List) tracks a secret project on which Wayne Enterprises is working and begins to target anyone that can give her information. Meanwhile, Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan) becomes obsessed with Penguin in Arkham. Also, Gordon begins to second guess his deal with Sofia and an unsettling dream sequence shakes up Bruce in the all-new “A Dark Knight: A Beautiful Darkness” episode of GOTHAM airing Thursday, March 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
Gotham returns with new episodes on Thursday, March 1st on Fox, with this installment following on March 8th.
