It’s one of six character profiles for the Marvel epic – so far, at least – and while fans have weaned some tantalizing story clues from each bio, such as Thanos and his one true motivation, the blurb for Captain America (Nomad?) reveals a disillusioned patriot who is still feeling the full effects of Civil War and the contentious Sokovia Accords – otherwise known as the Superhero Legislation Act in the comics.

Not only that, but there are those who believe said bio strongly alludes to the Secret Avengers, a black ops team of costumed crusaders that rose from the ashes of S.H.I.E.L.D. circa 2010. Captain America has always been an anchor point for the clandestine operation, with other members including Ant-Man, Beast, War Machine, Moon Knight, Black Widow and Valkyrie of Thor: Ragnarok fame.

Could they be referenced during Avengers: Infinity War? The jury’s still out on that one, but here’s the bio in question:

Regardless of whether Joe and Anthony Russo choose to mention the Secret Avengers, it’s all but certain that Steve Rogers’ rogue status will help form the narrative bridge between Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War – a status he shares with Black Panther, given Letitia Wright’s fiercely intelligent Shuri is responsible for bringing Bucky Barnes back from the brink.

But even before he takes the fight to Thanos, Captain America has been kept busy with all sorts of clandestine missions:

The Super-Soldier has remained under the radar while continuing to do what he believes is right – saving the world one clandestine mission at a time.

Alas, we’re more inclined to believe that the Secret Avengers storyline, coupled with the whole Nomad persona, has informed Steve Rogers’ journey into Avengers: Infinity War, as opposed to the Russo Brothers dedicating an entire subplot to Cap’s top-secret escapades. Either way, though, all will be revealed on April 27th.
