Han, Chewie, Lando and the enigmatic Qi’Ra.
Together, they’re the four pillars of Solo: A Star Wars Story, and they each have their roots in the dark, criminal underworld of Lucasfilm’s far-away galaxy.
Because for Solo, Ron Howard and his creative team plan to thrust viewers into uncharted territory – specifically, a pocket of space between Episode III and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – for a high-octane adventure featuring Corellia, Kessel and a Galactic Empire fast approaching the height of its power.
Of course, as Solo‘s Super Bowl promo confirmed, Alden Ehrenreich’s renown smuggler originally flirted with the idea of becoming an Imperial Officer (“I’m gonna be a pilot…”) before blazing a path of his own through the cosmos. And now that Solo: A Star Wars Story has found an official commercial partner in Denny’s, today heralds the release of a new banner image featuring the young Han Solo and his galactic allies: Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and Qi’ra (Emilia Clarke).
You’ll also notice that each character retains their respective color schemes from February’s reveal – red/orange for Han; ocean blue for the smooth-talking Lando Calrissian; a regal purple for Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra; and yellow for everyone’s favorite walking carpet, Chewbacca – which helps differentiate Ron Howard’s fantastic four.
The Defenders is also another modern example of studios calling upon a particular color palette to establish the mood and/or tone of their project prior to release. Not only that, but it also looks bloody fantastic, and with only six weeks standing between now and release, we fully expect to catch wind of more promotional material for Solo: A Star Wars Story sooner rather than later.
