Although a portion of the Arrowverse is unfortunately on hiatus yet again for the time being, the truth of the matter is that we’re about to begin the final stretch of episodes for the season, so now is the time to get excited. In fact, Legends of Tomorrow will be wrapping up things a little bit earlier because, don’t forget, it tends to enjoy shorter seasons than that of its sister shows. Still, there’s a tad more of Arrow for us to look forward to, which we’ll touch on momentarily.
First, let’s discuss Legends of Tomorrow, which has thankfully been able to continue on without any interruption in recent memory.
On Monday, April 2, season 3’s penultimate episode will arrive in the form of the blatantly titled “Guest Starring John Noble.” Yes, he may technically serve as the voice of Mallus, but we learned not long ago that he’d be playing himself in some fashion, which has yet to be made clear.
Judging by the synopsis below, we’re willing to make the educated guess that he’s the one Gorilla Grodd is going after, but we can’t be too sure until it’s showtime. Perhaps our favorite primate with psychic powers didn’t like how the final season of Fringe turned out? Time will tell.
SEEING DOUBLE — With the timeline barely stable, the Legends must tackle two anachronisms at the same time to try and keep Mallus at bay. Sara (Caity Lotz) and Rip (guest star Arthur Darvill) team up to stop Grodd (guest star David Sobolov) from going after a particular target leaving Nate (Nick Zano) and Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) to stop Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) from changing her future. Meanwhile, the Legends think they have found a way to destroy Mallus, but they will have to create an uneasy alliance with one of their enemies. Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell and Tala Ashe also star. Ralph Hemecker directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & James Eagan (#317). Original airdate 4/2/2018.
Then, on Thursday, April 5, things are a bit harder to forecast over on Arrow because the synopsis for “Brothers in Arms” is decidedly vague. If we’ve learned anything from situations such as this over the course of the current season, it’s because this or the episode prior will see some kind of major event occur. Truth be told, we expected as much from “The Thanatos Guild,” which’ll air on March 29, but it’s hard to overlook the part about Oliver and Diggle’s “biggest challenge yet” in this case.
OLIVER MAKES A DARING MOVE THAT COULD COST HIM EVERYTHING — Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) face their biggest challenge yet. Curtis (Echo Kellum) is disappointed to find out his new boyfriend has a firm anti-vigilante stance. Mark Bunting directed the episode written by Sarah Tarkoff & Jeane Wong (#617).
