Since breaking the duck on Tomb Raider (our review), she’s quickly settled into the wider Marvel universe, accepting gigs on Silver & Black and Captain Marvel, the first female-fronted title to emerge from the MCU.

The latter project had Robertson-Dworet working on a treatment penned by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman of Guardians of the Galaxy fame, and during a recent sit-down with Collider, the scribe spoke at length about the “kick-ass” Carol Danvers and why the upcoming Captain Marvel solo movie will set itself apart from its superhero peers.

We really were bringing so much of what was already in the comics onto the screen, it felt like, in terms of the amazing character who’s so funny and sassy and talks back, and she’s fearless. I love that Carol Danvers is so funny. She has a blast when she kicks ass. Those comics are amazing! It’s an amazing world and sandbox to play in. You’re working with incredible creative people, every day. I had a total dream experience.

She’s sassy, smart and fearless. Suffice it to say, we pity any fool who dares get on the wrong side of Brie Larson’s titular protagonist.

As for the overall experience of collaborating with Marvel Studios, Geneva Robertson-Dworet later showered praise on Kevin Feige and the team for their hard-working mantra.

Marvel is a dream experience. It’s a very structured environment. You’re in this amazing collaborative environment, where you go in and meet with the team in person, a lot. Kevin Feige is there, multiple times a week, meeting with you and talking you through his vision of it, within how this story fits into the universe and what you want to do with the character. It was a total blast!

Captain Marvel has been scheduled for release on March 6th, 2019 and no, the titular heroine won’t be crossing over into Avengers: Infinity War. She is, however, busy filming on the streets of Los Angeles.
