Check Out Some Behind-The-Scenes Photos From Leprechaun Returns

While it may not quite have achieved the mainstream success that film franchises such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Halloween have, I think we can all agree that the Leprechaun series is probably among the most beloved among horror aficionados of the past few decades. As such, it's been granted a variety of sequels, even if a good portion of them have been direct-to-video.

Now, you may still have a bad taste in your mouth after viewing 2014’s Leprechaun: Origins, but we can assure you that the latest offering, Leprechaun Returns, isn’t yet another WWE vanity project, so it has that going for it. Furthermore, it’s seemingly the latest flick to serve as a sequel to the original, a trend we’ve been seeing recently that’s somewhat counter to doing a straight-up reboot.

So, while it may be a while before we receive some truly substantial info regarding the new film, we at least have the initial teaser trailer and a couple new behind-the-scenes images to go on, the latter of which can be seen in the accompanying gallery.

Sure, these images posted on the Lampstandfilm Instagram page aren’t too spoiler-ish, but at least we get another look at Linden Porco, the latest actor to succeed Warwick Davis, in full costume. It may be a tad bit grainy, yes, but it’s much appreciated, regardless.

And, if you’d like a little more to work with, be sure to check out the synopsis below:

The film picks up 25 years after the events of the 1993 original, which found a maniacal Leprechaun doing whatever it takes (including committing gruesome murder) to track down his stolen pot of gold. Leprechaun Returns finds the leprechaun revived in the modern day when a group of sorority girls unwittingly awaken him while tearing down a cabin to build a new sorority house.

Leprechaun Returns premieres on Syfy in March of 2019.
