Well, isn’t this a pleasant surprise. After all, it isn’t every day that the combatants representing Marvel and DC play nice with each other, now is it?

Diana Prince and the Merc with a Mouth got into a little shoving match earlier when Gal Gadot playfully called out Ryan Reynolds for stealing her trademark crossing of the arms in Deadpool 2’s latest trailer – which dropped last week.

Gal took to social media and Tweeted at Reynolds saying “Dude stole my look,” with an image of Deadpool making the “X” symbol in the back of an aircraft. It didn’t take long for the pride of Vancouver to reply in true meta form, stating: “Imitation is the sincerest form of larceny.”

You can check out the pair hilariously exchanging light jabs below:

While Diana Prince uses the “X” to deflect incoming attacks, Wade Wilson was merely signalling the name of his new supergroup, X-Force – but deep down, we all know it was a cheap shot. As such, this friendly meeting between DC and Marvel stars was no doubt just a momentarily lapse in judgement and we fully expect both sides to be tearing at each other’s throats again in no time at all.

On a more serious note, both Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds are enjoying their moments in the spotlight right now. Wonder Woman 2 was given a production start date earlier this month and is beginning to heat up, and as we mentioned before, the Merc got a brand new trailer last week. While it may be a while before we see Gal back in action, with Diana Prince’s next solo outing not hitting theaters until November 1st, 2019, Deadpool 2 will be with us on May 18th – and we can hardly wait.
