Robert Downey Jr. in Avengers: Infinity War

The Russo Brothers Share BTS Infinity War Pic In Honor Of Robert Downey Jr.

The Russo Brothers have posted a behind-the-scenes shot from Avengers: Infinity War in honor of Robert Downey Jr.'s birthday.

April 4th is a very special day for those who trade in comic book movies.

For one, it marks Heath Ledger’s birthday, the late actor immortalized for his truly unforgettable turn in The Dark Knight, where he played the dreaded Joker to Christian Bale’s brooding Batman.

In the Marvel camp, April 4th is also the day of Robert Downey Jr.’s birthday, and sure enough, the Russo Brothers posted a new behind-the-scenes image from the set of Avengers: Infinity War to honor the actor. This pic, which was presumably taken in the midst of production, appears to be lifted from the scene involving Star-Lord, Iron Man, Spidey and the dazed Drax, who looks on at his squabbling allies with a mixture of confusion and indifference (“let’s talk about this plan of yours. I think it’s good…except, it sucks”).

Truth be told, viewers can expect plenty of rib-tickling interactions between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their newfound allies – indeed, the first reaction to Infinity War hailed its “ambitious” scope and funny dialogue – and below, you’ll see that aforementioned shot of RDJ enjoying a laugh between takes.

It’s a cool, black-and-white pic from the archives, but those pining for new content would be better served by Infinity War‘s official IMAX poster, which brings together most, if not all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in spectacular fashion.

Only Hawkeye is conspicuous by his absence, though it’s fair to say that by this stage of the game, we’d be more shocked if Clint Barton was included in a promo for Infinity War, as opposed to the other way around.

Chances are Joe and Anthony Russo have a secret hidden up their collective sleeve when it comes to Hawkeye, who’s rumored to have embarked on his own journey in Avengers: Infinity War. So many questions, so few answers
