Cinemaholics #59: A Quiet Place Review

Special guest Rebecca Pahle joins Cinemaholics this week to hep review A Quiet Place, the new horror film directed by John Krasinski. They also review Blockers, King in the Wilderness, Isle of Dogs, Unsane and more.

A Quiet Place has just hit theaters, but we’re not going to stay silent about it on the latest episode of Cinemaholics. This new horror film unexpectedly directed by John Krasinski (who also stars in the movie with his actual spouse, Emily Blunt) is getting almost universal praise from critics and fans alike and we brought on special guest Rebecca Pahle to raise some commotion over the film.

As always, we spend some time diving into other notable releases this week, too, including Blockers, which stars Leslie Mann, John Cena and Ike Barinholtz. This is yet another studio comedy getting most people laughing, but not all of the Cinemaholics are quite on the same page about the pic.

Early in the show, Jon also teases some of his thoughts on the movies coming out at San Francisco Film Festival, including Won’t You Be My Neighbor, Searching and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Will, meanwhile, finally reveals his belated thoughts on the new Wes Anderson film, Isle of Dogs, as well as Steven Soderbergh’s latest, Unsane, and Maveryke recommends Wind River, which just hit Netflix streaming.
