While many are still holding out hope for a standalone Hulk movie, MCU head honcho Kevin Feige has vowed to deliver the next best thing: a three-film arc for Bruce Banner, which began with the release of Thor: Ragnarok.

To Feige’s credit, the Jade Giant enjoyed a huge (and hilarious!) role in the aforementioned threequel, and we already know how Joe and Anthony Russo plan to incorporate the character in Avengers: Infinity War and its so-far untitled sequel.

Much to the surprise of no one, it can all be traced back to Ragnarok‘s post-credits scenes, with one, in particular, teasing the inevitable arrival of Thanos and his Sanctuary II warship. His first point of contact? Thor and Hulk, who will try to stop Josh Brolin’s big bad before he reaches Earth. While admirable, their efforts are ultimately in vain, as the God of Thunder is sent out into space, where he crashes onto the Guardians’ windshield.

And Hulk? He’s sent falling back down to Earth, where he takes it upon himself to warn Stark and the others of the threat that awaits them. It’s this moment which is teased in the new clip above, as we see Banner filling Tony in on Thanos and his plan to grab the Infinity Stones.

In fact, when ComicBook.com caught up with Mark Ruffalo during a recent a set visit, the actor revealed that Banner will be left “terrified” by his encounter with Thanos and makes it his duty to get his fellow Avengers to understand just how much danger they’re in.

“Banner knows probably more about Thanos than anybody. He’s really trying to impress on everybody how dangerous he is. It’s a little bit of a Chicken Little. He comes in screaming, ‘Bloody murder!’ He’s seen what damage [Thanos] can cause and how powerful he is. The entire group is in disarray, so there’s also getting caught up on what’s happened here. He’s trying to get them to transcend their differences and impress upon them how much danger they’re actually facing.”

Avengers: Infinity War is now just one week away from hitting theaters and we fully expect it to unfold across an epic, near-unprecedented scope. Will directors Joe and Anthony Russo be able to maintain a compelling, well-thought-out story amid all the CG carnage, though? We’ll find out soon enough.
