Peter Dinklage’s Role In Avengers: Infinity War Finally Revealed

With Avengers: Infinity War now out in some parts of the world, Peter Dinklage's role in the film has finally been revealed.

When Peter Dinklage joined Avengers: Infinity War in a mysterious role, speculation — as it always does on the Internet — ran rampant. Multiple characters were thrown into the mix, but now, with the film already out in many parts of the world, all has been revealed and just as many theories predicted, Dinklage shows up as Eitri, the King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir.

As “one of the greatest forgers and weapon makers who helped create some of the most powerful weapons in all the Nine Worlds,” he’s obviously of great value to Thor. If you recall, the end of Ragnarok left the God of Thunder without his trusty hammer Mjolnir. Given that he’s got a fight with a certain Mad Titan coming up, he’s obviously going to need something new to wield and that’s where Eitri comes in.

Along with Groot and Rocket, Thor travels to Nidavellir and has Dinklage’s character craft him the Stormbreaker, a tremendously powerful new weapon which certainly comes in handy. But that’s not all there is to the story, as the film also reveals it was Eitri who made the Infinity Gauntlet for Thanos. Not out of his own freewill, mind you.

Rather, the Mad Titan promised to spare his people if he complied with his request, but once the Gauntlet was made, Thanos killed everyone anyways, leaving only Eitri behind – though he took the dwarf’s hands. Still, he’s able to forge a new weapon for Thor and though his role isn’t terribly big in the film, it’s still nice to see Dinklage show up. Even if his appearance won’t come as a surprise to many people.

So, there you have it. After much speculation, Peter Dinklage is indeed playing Eitri, the King of the Dwarves of Nidavellir. And with Avengers: Infinity War now in the process of its global rollout, you can expect all its other surprises and secrets to be revealed in short order.
