Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War

Is Infinity War’s Soul Stone Key To Unlocking The Secrets Of Avengers 4?

We now have reason to believe that the Soul Stone of Avengers: Infinity War will be key to unlocking the secrets of Avengers 4.

Said to be more powerful than the last five gems combined, the Soul Stone of Avengers: Infinity War proved to be every bit as devastating as we had come to expect – not least because its mere presence was enough to drive a wedge between Thanos and Gamora.

And though we’ll refrain from disclosing any plot details here, we should warn you: ComicBook.com has pieced together a rather intriguing theory which may go some way to explaining how the Soul Stone factors into the top-secret story of Avengers 4.

Suffice it to say, it’s a smorgasbord of speculation and mooted rumors, though considering this theory has its roots in the heartwrenching finale to Infinity War, we strongly advise you to bookmark this page and return at a later date – providing you’ve yet to lay eyes on Joe and Anthony Russo’s superhero smackdown, in which case we’ll see you after the jump.

Still with us? Good. First up, this speculative guess concerns that final (?) exchange between Tony Stark and Peter Parker, who ultimately succumbed to the effects of Thanos’ finger-snap – just like half of the universe before him.

It’s in this moment that Tom Holland’s Web-Head utters the words, “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good…I don’t wanna go,” to a tearful Tony, who is struggling to process the fact that his surrogate son is quite literally slipping between his fingers. But pay attention to Holland’s dialogue – the actor says “go,” rather than “die.” Go where, exactly? The Soulworld of Marvel’s cinematic juggernaut, perhaps?

Spider-Man in Avengers: Infinity War

In the comics, that pocket of space actually exists within the Soul Stone, where a collection of beings exist in a state of peace and tranquility. So perhaps Spidey (and Gamora?) have been sucked into another realm as opposed to being outright killed?

That’s the hot rumor currently doing the rounds, folks, though it’s unlikely we’ll get a firm answer until we’re much closer to the theatrical release of Avengers 4. Still, as always, feel free to leave your own thoughts and theories in the usual place below.
