Seeing as how the Joker is my favorite supervillain, the wait between episodes of Gotham has been quite taxing on me as of late. Not only has this series’ take on his origin been engaging and something all its own, but I’ve come to appreciate how the writers throw a curveball at us just when we think we have everything figured out.
To celebrate the introduction of the Clown Prince of Crime, the network has now put together a new extended trailer (seen at the top) showing us how Jeremiah Valeska got to this point, as well as what he’ll be up to in the remaining two episodes airing this season. Be aware that some spoilers are to be witnessed, but again, be prepared for unexpected twists and turns once it’s showtime.
Upon viewing the footage, I can’t help but notice how much more calculating Jeremiah is than Jerome, not to mention that he’s apparently exponentially more vile. And while some are saying he’s not acting very Joker-like thus far, it should be noted the footage cuts off right before he releases his first laugh, so I think we’re being deliberately forced to wait on that.
If you require more, be sure to peruse the accompanying gallery for images taken from “A Dark Knight: One Bad Day,” which looks to be when Jeremiah publicly reveals himself as a menace. Of course, there’s more to come in the season finale, but let’s just wait to see how the story unfolds, shall we?
Before leaving, be sure to check out the synopsis for May 10th’s episode:
