We are, of course, referring to Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Paramount’s sixth installment in the venerable action franchise that’s coming by way of Christopher McQuarrie, the creative mind behind the really rather excellent Rogue Nation.

Pegged for a primetime summer release, Fallout is said to open up a bold new chapter in the story of Ethan Hunt, and the sequel’s new and presumably final trailer has arrived today to prove it. Embedded above, you’ll see Tom Cruise’s kick-ass agent take the fight to Justice League‘s Henry Cavill (mustache included), as the legitimacy of the IMF is called into question. Yes, it seems the ghosts of Mission: Impossible past have come back to haunt Ethan Hunt, and we can only imagine what eye-popping stunts are in store.

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. Mission: Impossible – Fallout finds Ethan Hunt and his IMF team along with some familiar allies in a race against time after a mission gone wrong.

Behind the scenes, we know Christopher McQuarrie is about to become the only director to helm more than one M:I film, given Brian De Palma, John Woo, J.J. Abrams, and Brad Bird favored a one-and-done approach to Paramount’s action flagship. But make no mistake, as Fallout‘s final trailer proves, McQuarrie is about to catapult the series to dizzying new heights. And we couldn’t be more excited.

Also starring Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Wes Bentley and Frederick Schmidt, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is expected to boot online on July 27th – or July 26th, if you happen to find yourself in the United Kingdom.
