By now, you’ve probably either heard about Brad Pitt’s cameo in Deadpool 2 or seen it for yourself. The movie star makes his first appearance in a superhero film ever for a split second when it’s revealed that he’s the invisible X-Force member The Vanisher. However, it turns out that he’s not the only massive Hollywood name who showed up in the X-Men universe sequel.

If you’ve seen the film, you’ll remember that Terminator-like moment when Josh Brolin’s Cable travels to the present from the future and hijacks a truck belonging to a couple of rednecks. In true Deadpool style, the pair are discussing the pros and cons of toilet paper before the time-travelling cyborg shows up. You wouldn’t know it from the heavy make-up, beard and hat he’s wearing in the scene, but one of these rednecks is actually Matt Damon. And his co-star is another well known name: Alan Tudyk, of Firefly and Rogue One fame.

This isn’t the first time that Jason Bourne himself has appeared for a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo in a superhero movie, of course. In fact, it’s not even the first time in the past 12 months. He previously showed up in Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok as an Asgardian actor who plays the part of the dying Loki in a play. He was also paired with other famous faces in that scene, too, including Sam Neill and Luke Hemsworth.

For a guy who managed to avoid the whole superhero game for a very long time, he’s definitely making up for that now. In fact, by appearing in cameos in two Marvel movies from different universes, it seems that Matt Damon fancies becoming the next Stan Lee. At this rate, we should look out for him in Avengers 4. Hell, maybe he’ll even join his old pal Ben Affleck in the DCEU as well?

Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick previously revealed to Radio Times where the dialogue for this scene came from, too, and given the gross out nature of the discussion, they just knew they needed a high caliber actor to deliver it.

“I have a toilet paper manifesto of my own, abut the inadequacy of toilet paper. I do this bit about it, and I did it for Ryan [Reynolds]. We all looked at each other and said, ‘This has to go into the movie somehow.’ Then we discussed what caliber actor would we need to do such a scene…”
