Former Walking Dead Star Reveals Which Marvel Superhero He’d Like To Play

Now that his tenure on The Walking Dead is over, Chandler Riggs has revealed which Marvel hero he'd like to play on the big screen. Spoilers: it's Spider-Man.

Not for the first time, former Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs has expressed his love of Spider-Man, before admitting that he’d like to have a crack at the Marvel hero in the not-so-distant future.

During a recent Q&A session at Nashville’s Walker Stalker Con, the young actor told those in attendance that he’s always held a soft spot for Stan Lee’s world-famous Web-Head, even if he fully admits that Tom Holland is absolutely nailing the job – something that Lee himself echoed over the weekend.

And so, when asked straight-up about which Marvel superhero he’d like to play, Riggs immediately jumped to Spider-Man, though the fact that said role is currently occupied means the actor would need to put a little more thought into the question before he really considered donning a cape for one of Hollywood’s biggest studios.

I thought Spider-Man would be pretty cool, I auditioned for that a few years ago. But Tom Holland is such an incredible actor, and he’s so funny. But I don’t know. I honestly have no idea.

So, there you have it; Chandler Riggs still has one eye on Spidey, though the fact that The Walking Dead star previously auditioned for Peter Parker (and Han Solo!) means we shouldn’t read into his latest comments too much.

Elsewhere, it’s being reported that Jake Gyllenhaal (!) has opened Mysterio talks with Marvel Studios in anticipation of Spider-Man: Homecoming 2, though it’s far too soon to know whether those negotiations will yield any tangible results or not. Then again, the 2019 follow-up is expected to begin filming across parts of Europe this summer, so it shouldn’t be too much longer before Marvel delivers the answers we so crave.
