New Wonder Woman 2 Logo Teased At Licensing Expo

If superhero films have taught us anything, it’s that in times of dire peril, the people need a symbol of hope to guide them through the darkness. In this case, it’s the DCEU that’s in need of rescuing after the commercial and critical disappointment that was last year’s Justice League, and Wonder Woman 2 might be the film to do it.

In this case, it’s the DCEU that’s in need of rescuing after the commercial and critical disappointment that was last year’s Justice League, and Wonder Woman 2 might be the film to do it.

The sequel to easily the most well-liked and profitable DCEU flick has teased an early version of its logo, giving fans a small taste of a film that audiences and studios alike will be awaiting with bated breath. It’s not much to go on, but the photo taken from the annual Licensing Expo in Las Vegas of the new title font is circulating Reddit and prompting speculation.

In contrast to the thin, well-spaced font used to promote the first Wonder Woman, this bolder new title design is more on the thick and blocky side, with much less spacing between letters. With its deep red hues and small margins, the title has drawn comparisons to the Princess of Themyscira’s most recent comic book lettering.

All that being said, it may still be a while before we get see any actual photos from the movie itself, which is still in its development stages. Director Patty Jenkins assured Variety at the Cannes Film Festival this month that production will begin in the very near future, though.

In the meantime, we do still have a couple more DC releases to await. First, director James Wan is taking the reins with the debut solo outing of Aquaman in December. Then come April, David F. Sandberg will be offering his take on Shazam!, whose costume was also revealed at this month’s Licensing Expo.

Here’s hoping things will work out okay for those two projects, otherwise there’ll be a lot of pressure on Wonder Woman 2 to perform well when it hits cinemas on November 1st, 2019.
