Ant-Man And The Wasp Fan Theory Outlines Possible Ties To Avengers 4

A Hawkeye cameo in Ant-Man and the Wasp? What about the sequel's ties to Avengers 4? It can only be the latest Marvel fan theory that's doing the rounds online.

Though Marvel’s 2018 slate is fast approaching its pint-sized finale with Ant-Man and the Wasp, there’s a real sense that the MCU is building towards something truly special.

Not only is Captain Marvel locked in for early 2019, but Joe and Anthony Russo are deep into post-production on Avengers 4, an MCU blockbuster that’s since been described as a “turning point” for the entire franchise. And that’s not a phrase to be taken lightly, what with those rumors of time travel and alternate timelines.

But how does Ant-Man and the Wasp fit into all this? Well, over on YouTube, Webhead has composed a new fan theory which outlines some of the ways in which Peyton Reed’s sequel helps bridge the gap between Infinity War and its untitled sequel. And it may well herald a cameo from Hawkeye.

Essentially, the crux of the theory revolves around an Interstellar-esque scenario where Ant-Man and the Wasp are shielded from Thanos’ snap of doom due to the time dilation that occurs within the Quantum Realm. So once they emerge and (presumably) complete their mission, they’re smack bang in the middle of Avengers 4, where they must cooperate with the likes of Tony Stark, Captain America, and Black Widow to undo the Mad Titan’s mass genocide.

This may well apply to Hank Pym as well, though it’s highly likely that either Pym or Cassie Lang will be erased in order to place Ant-Man and the Wasp on a collision course with Thanos.

Via Webhead:

I feel the movie will see Hank Pym accidentally free Ghost from the Quantum Realm, leading Ant-Man and the Wasp on a chase to find Ghost and ultimately save Janet Van Dyne [Michelle Pfeiffer], but I feel they will witness the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Maybe this is all going on at the exact same time – or just a little bit before – and in the Quantum Realm, time isn’t really a factor there, so maybe when they come out of the Quantum Realm, a lot of time has passed, and they end up in Avengers 4.

So, there you have it; if this particular theory is to be believed, Ant-Man and the Wasp will be spared from the effects of Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet because they spend much of their sequel housed up in the Quantum Realm. Sound convincing? We’ll know more once the Marvel sequel tumbles off the production line on July 6th.
