Justice League’s Zack Snyder Names His Favorite Shot Of Ben Affleck As Batman

Justice League helmer Zack Snyder has been soliciting all sorts of questions of late over on Vero, including one about his favorite shot of Ben Affleck as Bats.

Out of all the many Batman shots peppered throughout Batman V Superman and Justice League, what’s your own personal favorite?

The Frank Miller-inspired take of Gotham’s Caped Crusader leaping through the air, only to be enlightened by a fork of blue lightning, is a worthy contender. Ditto for the low-angle shot of Bats standing on top of a gargoyle.

But if Zack Snyder had to choose one in particular, he’d cherry-pick a moment from the finale of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, when a visibly wounded Batman emerges from the rubble – stepping out of the darkness and into the light. It’s a scene that works on many different levels, and over on Vero, the filmmaker offered up some context as to why this particular shot still holds a place in his heart.

This is by no means the first time that Snyder has offered some post-match commentary on his time in the DCEU; earlier today, for instance, the director explained why Barry Allen wasn’t given a second costume as previously rumored. Spoilers: it has something to do with Zack Snyder’s desire to leave the door open for John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who will soon take point for Warner Bros.’ standalone Flash film.

“Now there’s a Batman…” Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently available across Blu-ray, DVD and all the usual platforms. Ben Affleck, on the other hand, is said to be bracing for another turn in the cape and cowl, despite numerous claims to the contrary. Up next? The Matt Reeves Batman movie that’s said to be targeting a release in 2020.
