Filming On Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 To Commence This January

While promoting his role in Fallen Kingdom, Chris Pratt confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is due to begin filming this January.

One glance at the Marvel calendar will tell you that Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel are caught up in the middle of Infinity War and Avengers 4, but they’re by no means the only MCU projects sandwiched between two titans.

Case in point: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is all set to begin filming in January 2019. At least, that’s according to Chris Pratt, who spoke to MTV ahead of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, in which his Owen Grady returns to Isla Nublar – reluctantly, we might add – in order to retrieve Blue and those other dinos at risk of extinction…again. That’s right, this summer, it’ll (mostly) be humans chasing after the prehistoric beasts, as opposed to the other way around.

Asked about Star-Lord’s actions during the interlude between Infinity War and Avengers 4, Pratt responded as so:

You’ll know once you see part two. I’m slated to film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in January, so we don’t know yet, time-wise, where that lines up. I’m hoping it’s not the last time you’ll see me [in the Marvel Cinematic Universe], but I can’t be sure.

Truth be told, Chris Pratt’s on-screen hero has caught a lot of flak from the Marvel fanbase, as Star-Lord was guilty of having a lapse in concentration during one of Infinity War‘s biggest scenes. Had things panned out differently, Peter Quill would have been the one to stop Thanos (and avenge Gamora), though his callousness ultimately allowed the Mad Titan to continue on his warpath all the way to Wakanda.

Be that as it may, Star-Lord will return for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 early next year, when James Gunn’s cosmic threequel will get the ball rolling.
