Jeff Goldblum Game For Another MCU Role Beyond Thor: Ragnarok

Via MTV, Thor: Ragnarok's Jeff Goldblum has revealed that he's not opposed to a future role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Jeff Goldblum and the Marvel Cinematic Universe are two things you wouldn’t have put in the same sentence five years ago, and yet here we are.

Thanks to Thor: Ragnarok and the creative genius of Taika Waititi, Goldblum clinched the role of the Grandmaster, Sakaar’s most eccentric resident and the mastermind (sadist?) behind the Contest of Champions. He was undoubtedly one of the most memorable supporting players ever to grace the MCU, and it seems Goldblum is not opposed to one day returning to the franchise at some point in the future. Avengers 4, perhaps?

Currently out promoting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – ditto for Chris Pratt, who just confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 kicks off early next year – Jeff Goldblum spoke to MTV about the Grandmaster’s MCU future…or lack thereof.

I don’t know…who knows? They’ve got a good imagination, you know – Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Victoria Alonso over there, they know what they’re doing. They make good movies. Well, I’ll see if I could contribute to anything they are doing. I imagine that my brother, the Collector, played by Benicio Del Toro, maybe we see us together. I don’t know, who knows?

Much like Korg and Miek, Marvel Studios didn’t explicitly address the fate of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster during the finale of Avengers: Infinity War, which tells us that there is currently a 50-50 chance that Sakaar’s ringleader is still alive.

In saying that, if Avengers 4 really does incorporate elements of time travel and alternate timelines into its super-sized story, then we could see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes visit the Grandmaster at some point as they look to forge a second Infinity Gauntlet. All of this is yet to be confirmed, of course, but it’ll nonetheless fan the flames of speculation…
