Jason Momoa in Aquaman

James Wan Says First Aquaman Trailer Is Imminent

Via Twitter, writer-director James Wan has confirmed that the first teaser trailer for Aquaman will be with us very soon indeed.

It won’t be long before we’ve laid eyes on the King of the Seven (again), as writer-director James Wan has confirmed today that Aquaman‘s first trailer will be with us very soon indeed.

Over on Twitter, the filmmaker and all-around horror maestro announced that it’s really only a matter of time before we see Jason Momoa’s Atlantean back in action, which strongly aligns with yesterday’s report that Aquaman is all set to make a big splash – pun definitely intended – at San Diego Comic-Con next month.

Hell, if you believe the hype, Wonder Woman 2 (Wonder Woman 1984?) will also be in attendance, as will Kristen Wiig as the newly-anointed Cheetah. The same goes for Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck, whose rumored appearance ought to silence any doubters convinced that Affleck’s days as Batman had come and gone.

And Aquaman? Well, if those glowing reactions from CinemaCon are any indication, then Wan and his team have cooked up an “epic and fun” expansion of the DC extended Universe.

Assuming that is indeed the case, Aquaman has the potential to usher in a new wave of promising DC movies – namely Shazam! and that aforementioned sequel to Wonder Woman – which, if nothing else, reminds us that there is still plenty to look forward to when it comes to Warner’s comic book movie franchise.

And after the dismal performance of Justice League, the DCEU could do with a boost. Here’s confirmation of that imminent trailer reveal, courtesy of the Wan himself:

Aquaman docks in theaters on December 21st, and will face stiff competition from both Alita: Battle Angel and the Bumblebee spinoff movie, which looks to be a totally different beast from the CG-laden clusterfuck that is Paramount’s core Transformers series.
