Last we heard, Margot Robbie, coming off her Academy Award-nominated performance in I, Tonya, had officially joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The Australian actress, who confirmed her involvement last month while promoting Terminal, will portray Sharon Tate, the murdered, pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski.

Although the Sony Pictures release does already boast a stellar cast, including Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio and six-time Academy Award nominee Brad Pitt, the ninth feature for Tarantino behind the camera has now added a quartet of recognizable talent to fill out its ensemble. According to Deadline, Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis (Homeland), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild), Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds) and Luke Perry have all come aboard.

This comes after the director recruited several other talented individuals, such as Kurt Russell (The Hateful EightDeath Proof), Tim Roth (Pulp FictionReservoir Dogs) and Michael Madsen (Kill Bill). All in all, it’s an absolutely stacked cast and we can’t wait to see them bring this story to life.

Charles Manson

Set in 1969, Once Upon a time in Hollywood will shadow The Wolf of Wall Street’s male lead, Leonardo DiCaprio, as TV western actor Rick Dalton, and the invisible man himself, Brad Pitt, as Cliff Booth, his stunt double, while they “embark on an odyssey to make a name for themselves” in 1969 Los Angeles, during the Charles Manson murders.

Following the downfall of longtime producer Harvey Weinstein, Tarantino announced late last year that he would be taking his newest film to Sony Pictures, where it’ll see a release on August 9, 2019. And with the likes of Robbie, Lewis, Hirsch, and Fanning now firmly on board, it would appear that most of the casting for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is complete. Though should that change; we’ll be sure to let you know.
