Ant-Man And The Wasp Zoom Onto The Cover Of Empire

It's about damn time: Empire has today lifted the lid on its exclusive subscriber cover for Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Marvel sequel due to hit theaters next month.

Picking up the reins from Deadpool 2, Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp has been crowned cover star of Empire Magazine. And the outlet’s gorgeous, retro-inspired subscriber cover is here to prove it.

It’s another Andy Park gig, who has long proven his Marvel credentials with scores of beautiful pieces dedicated to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their cosmic allies. He’s since been instated as Visual Development Supervisor/Concept Artist over at Marvel Studios, and his recent credits include Thor: Ragnarok, Captain Marvel and, of course, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Whether this piece will be available to purchase separately is another question entirely, but either way, it brings us a little closer to Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne, and their newfound nemesis: Ghost, the “phase-powered villain” to be played by Hannah John-Kamen. She’s a character whose roots can be traced back to the Quantum Realm, so it’s nigh on certain that her arc will be inextricably tied to that of Janet Van Dyne‘s, given she’s spent an eternity wasting away in what is essentially the MCU equivalent of a black hole.

Pretty cool, eh? Inside this issue is a detailed breakdown of Ant-Man and the Wasp, not to mention its place in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, so you can expect some fresh intel to emerge over the coming days.

Said to be 118 minutes in length and every bit as fun and zany as the original, Ant-Man and the Wasp is locked in for a U.S. debut on July 6th, with viewers across the pond expected to welcome Peyton Reed’s itsy-bitsy sequel into theaters four weeks after the fact. That opens up a potentially dangerous window for spoilers, so if you happen to be located in the United Kingdom, we advise you to tread lightly.
