The Predator Hunts His Prey In New Trailer For Shane Black’s Reboot

After lighting up the web with its electrifying first trailer, which brought us blood, sci-fi action and ugly motherfuckers, 20th Century Fox has now summoned another preview The Predator, Shane Black's reboot that's said to take place between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and the botched Predators of 2010.

After lighting up the web with its electrifying first trailer, which brought us blood, sci-fi action and ugly motherfuckers, 20th Century Fox has now summoned another preview The Predator, Shane Black’s reboot that’s said to take place between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and the botched Predators of 2010.

It shares more DNA with the former sequel, given the suburban setting, but don’t think that Black’s squad of Special Forces will be hunting a single extra-terrestrial when in reality, a pool of Predators will be hunting them. Yes, the universe’s most feared creatures are back for more and it looks like they’ve taken a leaf out of Jurassic World‘s book by genetically upgrading themselves with the DNA of other species. Eek!

All of this (and more!) unfolds in the trailer above, which sees our heroes up against it as the promo teases that “the hunt has evolved.” There’s not a ton in the way of fresh footage here, but we do get to see what looks to be the start of a Predator vs. Predator smackdown as well as some great action. All in all, it’s a promising preview of what’s headed our way and we’re eager to lay our eyes on more.

Dubbed to be an “explosive reinvention” of the sci-fi classic, it appears as if Black’s stripped away most of the CG carnage in favor of old-school scares, which is something else that’s evident here. And if you’re still hungry for additional info, be sure to check out the plot summary below, which outlines the film’s premise.

The universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

On September 14th, The Predator strikes, and you’ll never see him coming…
