Spidey springs a surprise in this pair of behind-the-scenes photos from Avengers: Infinity War.
Coming to us by way of Reddit, down below you’ll see Tom Holland decked out in full motion-capture gear (a stand-in for the beautiful Iron Spider suit, no less) as he pleads with Tony Stark on board Ebony Maw’s Q-shaped ship. Unless it’s a shot from Titan, the ravaged homeworld of Thanos that collapsed into ruin due to overpopulation, thus prompting the Mad Titan’s quest to acquire all six Infinity Stones…
Whatever the case, the photo is accompanied by another BTS shot of Robert Downey Jr. talking tactics with Infinity War co-director Joe Russo and other members of the crew. He’s also kitted out in Iron Man’s Bleeding Edge armor, which is capable of transforming into just about anything thanks to Stark’s nanotechnology. But all of this is no match for Thanos, who’s still able to incapacitate most, if not all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – even without the full-powered Infinity Gauntlet.
Pretty cool, no? Truth be told, given the sheer size of Avengers: Infinity War, we can readily expect a bumper Blu-ray package to arrive later this summer, when Marvel fans will be given the chance to study the Russo Brothers’ creative process in great detail. There’s also been mention of some deleted scenes, too, but just don’t hold your breath for a director’s cut, as the filmmaking duo are already making preparations for the Avengers 4 reshoots scheduled to take place over the coming months.
Look for that one to light up theaters on May 3rd, 2019, by which point we should have a better understanding of what lies ahead for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 4 cometh.
