If you thought Avengers: Infinity War was a big, larger-than-life spectacle, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Nipping at the heels of Marvel’s Herculean crossover is Ant-Man and the Wasp, a pint-sized sequel that scales back to focus on Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne and their daring trip into the Quantum Realm.
Their mission? To find and potentially rescue Janet Van Dyne, Hope’s mother and the original Wasp who went sub-atomic to avert an ICBM during the height of the Cold War. Presumed dead, Hank Pym was forced to raise his daughter alone, but the fact that Scott Lang, a street-level crook played by Paul Rudd, was able to journey into the Quantum Realm and live to tell the tale allows Hank to pursue his rescue mission with a renewed sense of purpose.
All of this (and more!) will unfold when Ant-Man and the Wasp scurries into U.S. theaters next month, and to celebrate the sequel’s imminent arrival, Marvel Studios (h/t CBM) has today rolled out the official IMAX poster:
Proving that heroes come in all shapes and sizes, the super-sized one-sheet features Giant-Man and a miniaturized Hope racing down the streets of San Francisco. This chase sequence appears to be the same one that features quite prominently in Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s trailers, so expect some huge Pez dispenser action to ensue this summer.
Per IMAX:
The IMAX release of Ant-Man and The Wasp will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
Ant-Man and the Wasp opens big on July 6th.
