DCEU Storyboard Artist Confirms Zack Snyder’s Entire Cut Of Justice League Was Shot

With San Diego Comic-Con still roughly a month away, where we half expect the fabled Snyder cut of Justice League to be rolled out, storyboard artist Jay Oliva - who's been a veritable treasure trove of DCEU minutia, mind you - has once again doused the fandom flame in kerosene.

While we sift through the latest deluge of Snyder cut mythos – and await confirmation that Zack has indeed called Warner Bros.’ bluff and will foot the bill to complete the director’s cut of Justice League – Oliva has now gone on record, AKA Twitter, saying: “It may not be 100% polished, but all of the planned scenes were shot and edited into a full timeline.”

According to Oliva, who has served in the art department on Man of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, and, of course, Justice League, there is a Snyder cut out there somewhere.

“All of the scenes Zack envisioned was shot and exists in one form or another. Of course there are still VFX that is unfinished but I never inferred that the film was 99% done. Rather that Zack’s vision was all shot except for a few reshoots planned.”

Continuing on, he said:

“Other than incomplete VFX and maybe some reshoots for hook ups everything was shot that was storyboarded. Zack isn’t the kind of director who creates the film in the edit bay. It’s all planned out meticulously from beginning to end.”

Much like the long-rumored departure of Ben Affleck from the role of Caped Crusader in the DCEU, a lot of what you’ve heard regarding the Snyder cut has been scuttlebutt from relatively unreliable sources. Oliva, on the other hand, is someone with an extensive filmography, not to mention he’s worked alongside Zack every step of the way, helping to bring his vision for the DCEU to life.

As such, what he says does carry a lot more weight than most of what we’ve heard so far. And although you are free to draw your own conclusions, keep in mind that this isn’t your run of the mill Justice League rumor.
