Marvel At The VFX Of Avengers: Infinity War With This Incredible Breakdown

A new and frankly incredible VFX breakdown of Avengers: Infinity War has emerged online, and this one places a particular emphasis on Iron Man's clash with Thanos.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

We’ve seen early concept art and candid, behind-the-scenes photos, detailed box office reports and more fan theories than we can shake an Infinity Gauntlet at, but for our latest Avengers: Infinity War update, we draw your attention to this new and frankly incredible VFX breakdown.

Coming to us by way of YouTube, the following video places a particular emphasis on the Titan showdown, in which the combined powers of Iron Man, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man attempt to stifle Thanos before it’s too late. They would’ve gotten away with it, too, if it weren’t for Star-Lord’s meddling – or, to be more precise, his inability to pull the trigger.

Be that as it may, Infinity War‘s latest VFX showcase, which will likely be among those included on the inevitable Blu-ray release, begins with a shot of the Sorcerer Supreme calling upon his spell-binding powers to tear through the space debris. The Mad Titan is to blame for the cluster of rocks, given he used the Infinity Gauntlet to hurl fragments of a nearby moon toward Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

All of this (and more!) can be glimpsed down below:

If nothing else, it’s a timely reminder that Avengers: Infinity War featured some of the best visual effects we’ve ever seen from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – so far, at least – which certainly makes Joe and Anthony Russo’s team-up movie a shoo-in for the Best VFX Oscar at next year’s big ceremony. Surely it’ll bag a nomination when the time comes?

Regardless, one thing we can tell you with absolute certainty is that the Avengers: Infinity War Blu-ray will be a bumper package replete with additional footage, deleted scenes, and in-depth VFX breakdowns like the one seen above.
