Batman V Superman DP Reveals BTS Video Of Henry Cavill During Doomsday Fight

I don’t know what’s been up with Zack Snyder as of late, but the guy sure has been enjoying sharing all kinds of interesting trivia pertaining to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in recent memory. Sometimes, he may provide answers regarding things that have puzzled moviegoers for the past couple years, or he may declassify some cool pictures. Either way, he’s doing a fine job of keeping DC fans engaged.

When it comes to the topic of today’s discussion though, we actually have Larry Fong, director of photography, to congratulate. And though he may not be too keen on all the criticism that’s been aimed at the flick, he’s thankfully more than willing to provide an inside look at BvS‘ production.

In this instance, we get to see Henry Cavill suited up as Superman and engaging in a fight with Doomsday. Well, that is, the motion capture actor that’d later be fashioned into the oversized brute. Posted by Fong himself on Twitter, you can view the epic green screen showdown below.

Cool as this is, it’s hard to scrub from my mind Snyder’s recent comments saying the “true” Doomsday is still out there. Had that been accurate, the Death of Superman arc was essentially wasted on a lesser being, thus making an eventual appearance that’ll never happen because the auteur has now been given the boot more than redundant.

Admittedly, I wasn’t all too pleased with Doomsday’s appearance and maintain saying that TV shows such as Smallville and Krypton managed to nail down his look much better, but streamlining the monster’s origin for mainstream audiences was quite necessary. Should you be familiar with his comic book background, then you’re well aware of how convoluted it is, thus it didn’t hurt simplifying matters for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
