If Homecoming dealt with the growing pains and teen drama associated with high school, then Spider-Man: Far From Home is about to whisk Parker and friends off on a summer vacation to Europe.
That’s according to Marvel chief Kevin Feige, who spoke to io9 in anticipation of Ant-Man and the Wasp. It’s a conversation that covered all sorts of MCU-related topics, including the super-secret title for Avengers 4 and the marketing conundrums that Marvel will no doubt face in the lead-up to May 3rd, 2019. For instance, will the likes of Black Panther and Star-Lord remain dead for the duration of Avengers 4? So many questions, so few answers…
One query that Feige was able to tackle involved Far From Home and, more specifically, where and when the Jon Watts-directed sequel takes place – Europe, it seems, where Peter Parker will be enjoying summer vacation with his friends.
Well, when does that movie take place? We know it’s the summer. I think it’s summer vacation. I think he’s going to Europe with his friends. I don’t know what summer… I mean, I do know [but you don’t].
This aligns with previous reports, too, after outlets like Omega Underground and That Hashtag Show reported on Spider-Man journeying across the pond some months ago. Does that mean they were also right about the set-up for Sinister Six?
It’s far too soon to tell. We do, however, know that Spider-Man: Far From Home is due to lens across parts of London, Germany and New York City over the coming weeks and months, after Kevin Feige announced that Spidey’s second solo adventure will begin filming in two weeks’ time – just as production on Captain Marvel begins to wind down.
