In particular, it promises that the trouble’s just beginning for Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen. Now that he’s been carted off to jail, after being publicly revealed as the Green Arrow, a “mysterious new enemy” will emerge in Star City to destroy his legacy.

Check out the full synopsis below, per ComicBook.com:

“There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow.

Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.”

What’s more, the synopsis reveals that Oliver will have to deal with being locked up inside with several crooks that he’s responsible for putting there in the first place. Of course, Arrowverse viewers will know that something similar happened to Barry Allen during The Flash season 4 and we look forward to seeing which of Green Arrow’s rogues gallery from the past six seasons makes a return appearance in the new run.

The final sentence of the synopsis also hints that Oliver will have to “redeem his name” in order to stop the damage done by this enigmatic new big bad. Presumably, that means that the former mayor will have to fight for his freedom so he can suit up and save his city once again.

Hopefully Arrow season 7 will go all out to make it the show’s best outing yet. Stephen Amell has high hopes for it, too, as he’s apparently instructed the writers set it up as if it was the last season so that they put everything in they’ve ever wanted to see. Though we assume that Arrow‘s future is safe, that still sounds like a good approach to take to avoid the shortcomings of some recent outings.
