How Captain Marvel May Connect To Ant-Man And The Wasp

We already know that Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp will share some connective tissue, but is this how the two films will come together?

Marvel’s Quantum Realm might just be the glue which binds Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel and the so-far untitled Avengers 4.

First introduced in Peyton Reed’s original Ant-Man, the so-called Quantum Realm is a bottomless pit that exists between the known and the unknown. It’s an alternate dimension, essentially, one in which “all concepts of time and space become irrelevant.” So it’s no wonder Janet Van Dyne (AKA the original Wasp) has been AWOL for so long.

And that’s just it. We know that the search for Hope’s wayward mother will form the basis of Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Captain Marvel‘s use of the Quantum Realm is expected to give a “better understanding of Carol Danvers and her place in the MCU.” So, could it be that it’s this which actually connects the two films? It sure seems so, and if you’re not worried about spoilers, join us down below as we explain a bit further.

As you may’ve heard, Ant-Man and the Wasp has two can’t-miss post-credits scenes, and one of them is pretty important. Long story short, it ends off with Scott finding himself trapped in the Quantum Realm, and with the rest of the world – or most of it – turned to dust thanks to Thanos’ Snap of Doom from Infinity War, there really isn’t anyone around to help him get out of there.

So, how is Ant-Man to escape and join up with the rest of the heroes in time for Avengers 4? Well, that’s where Carol Danvers comes in. What we predict is that towards the end of her solo film, she’ll somehow encounter Scott in the Quantum Realm and help him out with his predicament, thus setting the stage for both of them to team up with Iron Man and co. in next May’s sequel.

That’s purely speculation, of course, but with Ant-Man and the Wasp ending off with Paul Rudd’s hero trapped in there, and Captain Marvel said to take us deeper into the mysterious alternate dimension, it seems all but certain that it’ll end up being the thing that links these two films together.
