It’s Showtime In The Latest Clip For Ant-Man And The Wasp

Though they were totally absent from Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel’s power couple makes up for lost time in this newly-released clip for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

We should clarify that the events of Peyton Reed’s tiny-teeny sequel are said to run in parallel to the apocalyptic action of Infinity War – either that, or Ant-Man 2 begins just prior to Thanos’ invasion – which, if nothing else, makes Ant-Man and the Wasp the perfect MCU tonic.

It also heralds a defining moment for Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp, who has snagged a title credit to reflect her expanded role – remember, Hope Van Dyne spent much of the first movie bemoaning the fact that her father, Hank Pym, had chosen low-level crook Scott Lang to be his protégé (and rightfully so).

That’s all changed now, of course, as Marvel and Peyton Reed have ensured Wasp is on an equal footing with Ant-Man, and today’s all-new clip shows the crime-fighting duo in action.

As the 20th installment in the MCU, Ant-Man and the Wasp is a special move in its own right – Peyton Reed has spent much of the sequel’s campaign describing it as a standalone adventure – but it’ll likely have massive ramifications for Avengers 4 and indeed the MCU’s future.

This ripple effect can be traced back to the Quantum Realm, the reality in which all concepts of time and space become meaningless, and it’s here where Ant-Man and the Wasp hope to save Janet from the brink of death. Chances are Marvel’s Quantum Realm will reappear in another MCU movie further down the road (Avengers 4, perhaps?), while we’ve since learned that the character of Cassie Lang may be destined for a big future, too.

We’ll find out more once Ant-Man and the Wasp begins screening in the U.S. next Friday, July 6th.
