Earlier today, Hulu dropped a brand new trailer for their horror anthology series, Castle Rock. The J.J. Abrams-produced show is said to be “an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of Stephen King’s best-loved works.” It’s got quite the cast attached to it, too, as it’ll see talent like André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård and more play out “an epic saga of darkness and light, on a few square miles of Maine woodland.”

And as if all that wasn’t enough, the series will also contain a number of nods to some of King’s most famous works, which is evident in the new footage that’s presented up above. Including callbacks to CujoIT, Carrie and more, it paints a chilling picture of what’s to come and we couldn’t be more excited to dive into it all later this month. In particular, Skarsgård looks to be on top form here and might just offer up a performance to rival his work as Pennywise.

For those who may not know, Castle Rock gets its name from the fictional town in King’s native Maine. It stands as an anchor point across the author’s rich body of work, appearing in everything from novels to short stories and other works of fiction like The Dead Zone and The Body. That presents Hulu with tons of juicy material to work with, and the official description from the online streamer teases the following:

Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.”

Also featuring Sissy Spacek (Bloodline), Jane Levy (Suburgatory) and Scott Glenn (The Leftovers), look for Castle Rock to hit Hulu on July 25th.
