Similar to how the release of Black Panther prompted cries for a Shuri spinoff, Marvel fans are beginning to wonder if we’ll ever see an MCU prequel featuring the original Ant-Man and the Wasp. Which is to say that Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne deserve a spinoff movie of their own.
That very question was posed to Hank Pym himself, Michael Douglas, during a recent interview with Metro (h/t ComicBook.com), in which the MCU mainstay admitted that he’d love to reunite with Michelle Pfeiffer in the not-so-distant future. Kevin Feige, are you listening?

Coming in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe marked a pretty radical change of pace for Michael Douglas as an actor, whose career spans everything from Wall Street to One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest. And sure enough, Douglas was taken aback by the rich, sprawling world of Marvel’s ever-evolving franchise – even if it meant taking a backseat to the comic book action.
When they came to me I said ‘yeah! This will be great, what fun!’ And I was curious about the green screen format, and now I have a deep appreciation about how it is acting with that and how easy they make it look when there is nothing there at all. So it’s been really fun – and also, as someone who is usually the lead and carrying movies or also producing them, the lack of responsibility is joyful.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is still playing in U.S. theaters, and is expected to journey across the pond in time for August 3rd.
