First Look At Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years Collector’s Book

A new book entitled Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years has been set for a 2019 release, and it'll offer up what is perhaps the Definitive Compendium of the MCU... so far.

As the Powers That Be brace for Avengers 4 and with it, the grand finale of the Marvel Cinematic Universe 1.0, Marvel has announced plans to release a new book entitled Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years.

Said to be priced at $150, this compendium comes by way of authors Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, who paraded their latest (and greatest?) release to SDCC attendees during Marvel’s panel late yesterday evening. It’ll launch just in time for Avengers 4, too (spring 2019), and some of the content beneath the hood is truly too good to miss.

Touting over 100 new interviews with key producers, studio heads and all of those A-star cast members – everyone from Robert Downey Jr. to Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man and the Wasp) is name-dropped – The First Ten Years is a truly special collector’s item, and it even includes a foreword by Kevin Feige, the seasoned producer who helped develop and launch this most impressive franchise.

Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years is the only book to give fans an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of the studio from a film production arm of a comic book company to the studio that has produced an unparalleled interconnected universe of feature films. The First Ten Years is a lavish, two-volume set that includes personal stories from the 22 movies up through and including 2019’s ‘Captain Marvel’ and untitled ‘Avengers sequel’.

All of this is crammed into two remarkably sleek volumes, the first of which includes a subtle line drawing of Iron Man’s Mk. 1 armor. Marvel veteran Ryan Meinerding is responsible for the design – ditto for the Infinity Gauntlet cover, too – and there will be plenty of Meinerding-inspired concept art to pore over once this must-have compendium releases into the wild.

Pre-orders for Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years are now live on Amazon, and given its spring 2019 release window, we imagine it’ll be available just before Avengers 4 goes live on May 3rd. Keep your peepers peeled.
