Deadpool 2’s Stefan Kapicic Wants Colossus To Fight Thanos In The MCU

Deadpool 2's Stefan Kapicic has said that he'd love to see Colossus in the MCU one day so he can take on Josh Brolin's Thanos.

Now that Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox is all ready to move forward – at the expense of Comcast, mind you – comic book fans are beginning to imagine some weird and wonderful crossovers involving Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and those Marvel characters who are set to join them.

We are, of course, referring to Deadpool, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, all of whom are ostensibly homeward bound now that Comcast has ended its pursuit of Fox. Of course, there’s still a lot of work to be done before fans can truly celebrate, but right now, it’s ‘so far, so good’ for the Mouse House.

And while it still may be too early to say for sure how those aforementioned properties will be integrated into the MCU, one person who’s certainly looking forward to it is Deadpool 2 star Stefan Kapicic, who plays the loveable Colossus. Amidst the morally dubious antics of the first two movies in the series, the character held a continuous presence as the voice of reason, making persistent and often fruitless attempts to steer Wade Wilson in the right direction while serving as a welcome comedic straight man throughout all the carnage.

But as it turns out, Kapicic would love to see Colossus throw down with Marvel’s Mad Titan. That’s right, the actor is hoping for a showdown between his character and Thanos, with Kapicic saying the following at Comic-Con last weekend:

“I would love to see Colossus go back to his X-Men, and who knows, with all these Disney-Fox things, I’m hoping the X-Men are gonna join the MCU, like the Avengers. I would love to see Colossus go against Thanos.”

He may get his wish, too, though it’s worth noting that MCU boss Kevin Feige called for everyone to just calm down last month, as the studio president admitted that, at least for now, he only has vague ideas of how to incorporate the X-Men and their mutant allies – Deadpool included – into the fabric of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In other words, don’t get too excited – just be thankful that this historic expansion is actually on the verge of becoming a reality.
