Spider-Man: Homecoming Star Thinks Their Character Survived The Snap

We all know how Avengers: Infinity War ended. Thanks to pesky Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet, the population of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was halved by one apocalyptic snap of the purple tyrant's fingers. We all know how Avengers: Infinity War ended. Thanks to pesky Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet, the population of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was halved by one apocalyptic snap of the purple tyrant’s fingers. Ever since then, fans have been wondering which supporting characters from the franchise managed to survive and which ones – literally – bit the dust.

While speaking with Laura Harrier to promote her new movie BlacKkKlansman, CinemaBlend asked what the actress thinks happened to her character from Spider-Man: Homecoming – Liz Toomes, sometime girlfriend of Peter Parker and daughter of Adrian Toomes/Vulture. Harrier decided to go for an optimistic answer and believes that Liz wasn’t one of Thanos’ victims.

“Did Liz disappear into dust? I think she’s around. I think she’s sticking around. She’s tough.”

The Russo brothers have previously confirmed the fate of some other MCU supporting players, telling us that those that made it out alive include such eclectic characters as Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Howard the Duck, Black Panther‘s Nakia and another Homecoming cast member, Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May. That last one is kind of sad, though, when you remember that Peter Parker didn’t survive.

Those that weren’t so lucky include Lady Sif from the Thor franchise, The Incredible Hulk‘s Betty Ross and even Matt Damon’s Asgardian actor. And let’s not forget perhaps the greatest tragedy of Thanos’ scheme – the Galaga guy from The Avengers. Curiously, the Russos declined to reveal what happened to Jane Foster, Korg and Shuri, though, suggesting they might play a role in Avengers 4.

As for Harrier, her optimism about Liz’s fate suggests she might be open to returning to the Marvel world at some point. As things ended badly for her and Peter in Spider-Man: Homecoming, however, we don’t expect to see Ms. Toomes in the upcoming sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is now filming. Her on-screen dad, though, Michael Keaton, is expected to make a comeback.
