The Merc Pays A Visit To Baby Hitler In Latest Deadpool 2 Deleted Scene

Deadpool 2's latest deleted scene has the Merc travel back to the 20th century and... change Baby Hitler's diaper? It can only be Wade Wilson.

Even for a comic book character known (and indeed celebrated) for his raunchy humor and sly one-liners, the Merc With a Mouth almost took it a step too far during Deadpool 2.

We are, of course, referring to the deleted post-credits scene in which Wade Wilson, imbued with Cable’s time travel abilities, journeys back to the 20th century where he’s seen cradling Baby Hitler in some dimly-lit ward. He then proceeds to… change Hitler’s diaper? Before ultimately threatening to bring in Cable because he “loves killing kids.” Yeesh.

Suffice it to say, Deadpool 2‘s Baby Hitler gag was deemed too controversial just prior to release, when test audiences reacted in horror. It was swiftly removed from the theatrical cut, and it’s only now that the David Leitch-directed sequel is available digitally that we can see what all the fuss is about.

Of course, those post-credits scenes that remained include a shot of Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yoiki fixing Cable’s time device, which lends the Merc one last chance to save Peter. Oh, and Vanessa, too.

And he doesn’t stop there. Wade Wilson then rolls back the years to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he executes Weapon XI before Wolvie’s very eyes. And after that? Arguably one of Deadpool 2‘s best gags: It’s 2011, and a fresh-faced Ryan Reynolds is beaming at the script for Green Lantern. He’s convinced he’s destined for the big time, when in reality, Martin Campbell’s ill-fated DC movie is headed for the trash can.

It’s a box office catastrophe that Reynolds himself has mocked ten times over, but Deadpool 2‘s post-credits scene took things to another level – even if the creative team stopped short of adding Baby Hitler into the mix.
