The Strode Family Brace For Unholy Terror In This New Halloween Pic

Entertainment Weekly has dropped another HD pic from Blumhouse's Halloween sequel, in which the Strode Family brace for another night of terror.

The ghosts of the past have returned to haunt Haddonfield and, in particular, the Strode Family.

But whereas before Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) was introduced as a 17-year-old babysitter at the mercy of Michael Myers, the Laurie of 2018 is a grandmother who has spent the past 40 years preparing herself – physically, if not mentally – for the inevitable return of Myers.

And that’s exactly where things kick off this October, when Blumhouse and David Gordon Green’s long-brewing Halloween sequel will be the talk of the town. It’s already enjoyed a whistle-stop tour from CinemaCon to San Diego Comic-Con, and the reactions have been nothing short of stellar as the entire industry braces for Laurie’s second coming. And let’s not forget about The Shape, who’s come to terrorize the Strode Family once again.

Case in point: Entertainment Weekly’s latest reveal, which places the spotlight on a visibly distressed Laurie as she cradles her daughter, Karen Strode (Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s Judy Greer) from the nightmares that await.

Halloween is now the second big-name horror movie to receive the spotlight from EW, after yesterday brought forth a suitably creepy photo for The Nun, Corin Hardy’s prequel that promises to pen the Conjuring’s darkest chapterso far.

Circling back to Haddonfield, though, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that the Halloween of 2018 is not your typical movie sequel. Not only has David Gordon Green welcomed back the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, but there have been rumblings that the film itself tweaks the continuity ever so slightly so that Michael Myers was apprehended after that fateful night in 1978.

And now, more than 40 years later, The Shape is about to be let loose once more. October 19th is the date for your diaries, folks.
