Avengers: Infinity War Producer Says The Deaths Will Affect Future Films

Believe it or not, there still exist those who think the deaths witnessed at the end of Avengers: Infinity War will stick. Granted, I would've swallowed it myself had Thanos' snap not snuffed out pretty much every major Marvel player being granted a sequel over the next few years, but who am I to apply logic to the situation?

Still, as time’s gone on, the herd has thinned as folks have begun realizing that Spider-Man: Far from Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 are among those next on the studio’s docket, not to mention follow-ups to Doctor Strange and Black Panther that are yet to be assigned theatrical dates.

Still, producer Trin Tranh is hanging in there by telling ComicBook.com about what lies ahead for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying the following:

“We were meticulous about each of the characters and spent a lot of time discussing how each character’s death would affect future films. The snap’ was always part of our story discussions from go. We all agreed Thanos needed that iconic moment, and definitely used the comics as a reference point. We had Brolin, in mocap, snap his finger on the day. Many other filmmaking aspects went into creating the iconic moment. The build-up to the snap was just as important as the snap itself.”

If I were to hazard a guess, these “deaths” will be referenced in future movies by having Peter Parker or T’Challa saying something like “hey, remember that time I died for a short while?” Come to think of it, it’d top the PTSD suffered by Tony Stark in Iron Man 3.

Debates over its conclusion aside, you can relive the game-changer that was Avengers: Infinity War when it arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on August 14th. Or, alternatively, you could click here for a chance to win a copy.
