Arthur And Mera Are The Focus Of New Aquaman Trailer

Having been a fan of Aquaman for some time and knowing he's not the wimp that the mainstream perceives him to be, you could say that I've been waiting for what seems like an eternity for a movie featuring him to materialize. Fortunately, Zack Snyder cast the perfect badass for the role in Jason Momoa while assembling Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and now James Wan's effort looks like everything I could've hoped for and more.

As you may recall, the general public was granted its first look at the film via the first full trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con last month. If you were to ask me, it appears every bit as epic and visually impressive as I’d imagined a flick based on this character could be – not to mention looking like an overall enjoyable movie, too.

Now, with just over four months to go until showtime, a shorter promo has begun circulating online (seen above), this time placing the focus on Arthur Curry (Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard). Remembering how these two previously met in Justice League, it’s pretty cool seeing Wan adapt one of DC Comics’ greatest romances for the big screen – or at least its beginnings.

In addition to seeing the future King of Atlantis being roped into this fantastic undersea civilization and its politics, the action that’ll be on hand is fully on display. If you were to ask me, Warner Bros. could have another Wonder Woman-sized hit on their hands here. Well, that is if studio execs don’t do a hatchet job on the final cut.

While taking in this video package, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for villains such as Ocean Master and Black Manta, too, the latter of whom’s expected to use this debut as a springboard to a larger role in a potential sequel. And given his history with Arthur in the comics, one can only anticipate a bloody battle to come.

Aquaman arrives in theaters on December 21st.
