Orlando Bloom Shares Awesome Lord Of The Rings Reunion Pic

Having fallen just shy of the $3 billion plateau at the worldwide box office, and garnered critical acclaim from far and wide - not to mention a staggering thirty Academy Award nominations - Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy has certainly set the bar high for Amazon Studios’ small screen adaptation. Nevertheless, with Jennifer Salke overseeing the ten-figure operation, and John D. Payne and Patrick McKay (Star Trek: Beyond, Godzilla vs. Kong) officially tasked with bringing “the rich world” created by J.R.R. Tolkien to life, we fully expect the electronic commerce subsidiary to knock their interpretation right out of the park.

Unfortunately, the driving force behind New Line’s triumph, Peter Jackson – amongst other personnel from the WingNut production – reportedly will not be involved. Although, if it’s a Lord of the Rings reunion you’re looking for, Legolas has got you covered.

Yesterday, Orlando Bloom, portrayer of the character in Jackson’s acclaimed and beloved trilogy, posted a selfie – which you can check out below – to his official Instagram account of himself alongside none other than Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and Ori (Adam Brown). Sure, the dwarf in the picture isn’t Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) and, technically, Ori isn’t even from the same Peter Jackson trilogy as the other two, but they’re all still brothers in arms, so we’ll give Brown a pass.

Circling back to Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings, though, which is believed to orbit around a young Aragorn – initially portrayed by Viggo Mortensen on the big screen – it’s currently gestating in the earliest stage of development. However, we could be looking at a possible premiere sometime in 2021. Until then, we’ll be sure to keep you posted every step of the way as we begin to learn more about what the company has planned.
