Marvel Seeking ‘Butt Double’ For Avengers 4 Reshoots

Here’s your bizarre MCU tidbit for the day: Marvel Studios has reportedly cast the net in search of a ‘butt double’ for Avengers 4.

The untitled blockbuster (codename: “Mary Lou”) is scheduled to begin a series of reshoots over the coming weeks as it prepares for a lengthy spell in post, but according to the Georgia Central Casting Facebook page (GCC), a portion of that additional photography calls for ‘butt double’ – presumably for Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and/or Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson).

Much like its MCU peers, Avengers 4 is headed to Georgia, Atlanta for its reshoots, so it shouldn’t be all that surprising to hear that Marvel Studios has put out a call for extras. This particular report also mentions that filming will most likely begin in early September, which is actually a little later than we had come to expect from Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2019 epic.

Per GCC, the Russo Brothers plan to shoot scenes “across Fayetteville and the Greater Atlanta Area. Experience is preferred. You must fit these size requirements.”

It should be noted that Natasha Romanoff was actually sporting a blonde hairdo during Avengers: Infinity War, so it’s unclear if this casting call for a body double (or a ‘butt double,’ to be precise), is referring to her Black Widow or Captain Marvel.

Then again, leaked concept art for Avengers 4 previously hinted that Romanoff will be reverting back to her old red hair come 2019. Whatever the case, all we can think about is that scene from Friends in which Joey Tribbiani plays the part of Al Pacino’s butt double – terribly, we might add. Though we suspect Marvel Studios has something a little more serious in mind…
